I have kept a journal/diary my entire life. I can read you entries from 6thgrade when I had a crush on Jake, 10thgrade when I switched high schools for the 3rdtime in that school year, and even entries from my early college years trying to figure out how to act with no parental supervision! Written word is one of the best ways I communicate and documenting life’s many changes means everything to me hence why I have a blog! But it wasn’t until Dr. Stacia Pierce taught me how to journal properly, that it really started to benefit me in a positive way and actually begin to change my life.
Typically, when people journalize at the end of the day they describe their day with utmost detail and yell at the people they couldn’t yell at IRL or cry over the person that hurt them more than anyone ever could. Occasionally they recall the amazing time they had on a date or the perfect dress they bought for their next big event. Even though it’s great to document your life…what good, aside from documentation, does that do? Maybe you learned something from a circumstance you were thrown into or maybe it just felt good to get it off of your chest.
But what if I told you writing negative things just draws more negativity to you and when you write down positive thing’s positive things are drawn to you! Dr. Stacia always says, “What’s written is real!” Words are powerful and you should only put out things that you want to come to pass. Instead of just recalling the day, you should be using your journaling time to intentionally write out what you really want from life! What are you trying to achieve, how do you really want your day to go, what is your next big step…these are the things we should be writing down! NOT the water cooler drama.
Write what you want, exactly how you want it! I don’t believe in magic and that when you write something down its miraculously going to appear in front of you. But what I do believe in, is intentionally journaling and having fast action in accordance to what I have journaled. I believe that just like what you say matters what you write matters as well! I am so grateful that Dr. Stacia has created AMAZING tools like the Success Journal and My Successful Day notepads that help you plan and journalize intentionally. I am also so excited and grateful to say that I was able to participate in her amazing new movie Journaling Secrets! This movie really gives an in-depth look at how to change your life through journalizing!
