I still want you to invite me…even though I’m not going to go…
Let me start by saying I probably will go if:
1. I’m not working (prior engagement)
2. I love you (my like for you is more than average)
3. There’s food involved (specifically donuts)
Also note I do NOT hate people!!!
So if I’ll go based upon the above criteria AND I don’t hate people…
What is stopping me from accepting your invitation with a big “OF COURSE I’M GOING TO BE THERE!”
Yep it’s as simple as that. I’m not into meaningless conversation. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE to talk! BUT I’m an introverted and extrovert so it can be a little awkward at first but I promise once I actually engage with you it will be worth the 15-25 seconds of “Ummm what?!”
You see I like to dig deep with my convos! I like to educate, entertain or inspire and I feel like if can’t provide that or if I’m not going to receive that same education, inspiration or entertainment then why go? Yes, I should cut people some slack and allow the conversation to organically get to that point…orrr I could stay home eat pizza and watch Netflix documentaries, write more blog posts, or brainstorm ideas for my future podcast!
I mean isn’t everyone’s goal to leave an impression where ever they go (right?)…and I personally feel like if I’m not in the optimal setting to do that it’s better if I just stay home…
I know my logic is probably flawed lol
Sooo let’s talk about it!!!
What’s your take on actually showing up when your invited somewhere?
What is meaningless or not so meaningless party conversation?!
Comment below! Or email me about that one time you bailed! 👀
In the meantime I promise to accept more invitations and actually show up for the event! As always breaking out of comfort zones and rising to the occasion!
